McCain, Palin and other Republican ignunce, whew I'm BACK!

Well howdy folks!

I have had all manner of things keeping me busy in life for quite sometime now. I am glad I have a spare moment to actually post to this blog.

Ok now on to the title of this post. I want to talk about Republican ignunce. When asked in private I will always say that Republicans WEAR me the F$%& OUT! I swear to GOD they whine more than a bitter group of contestants at a drag pageant.

I have been reading the news and listening to NPR this morning and I have to say WTF? Since when is it bad for minorities be it women of any ethnicity, asians, blacks, or god forbid gays, to question when one of their own says they are conservative? This just completely blows my dress up!

I was listening to the Diana Rehm Show and there was a commentator asking why anytime a minority identifies as a conservative they have to be destroyed and torn down by other minorities and the left? Well let me tell ya sister, all of the little minorities that scratch our heads, do so because it has typically been the extreme right and conservatives that have usually kept any type of minority down. It doesn't take a real genius to figure that one out. Does anyone remember the dixiecrats? Yeah those were good ole God FEARIN southern Democrats that were extremely anti-civil rights. Let me tell you they didn't go anywhere they just became Republicans. Strom Thurmond and Jesse Helms are two people that spring to mind.

Back to my topic, why are a lot of minorities and people on the left scared of McCain Palin? Because we do not care to continue the downward spiral towards a theocracy and a dictatorship. We speak out against these insane policies and agendas because we care about the nation as a whole. The last time I checked the 14th amendment guarantees equal protection under the law. That means everyone folks, not just the people who agree with you on abortion, gun rights, marriage or whatever the hot button issue is at the moment. McCain and Palin both support repealing Roe V Wade and a host of other frightening things. How this doesn't strike fear into all of us I do not know, but I have a good idea no one cares anymore. No one cares that the patriot act stripped us of all sorts of liberties. No one cares that wiretapping out phone calls is now common place. What do we care we feel safe! Who cares that we now torture people and ship people off to secret prisons, it is out of sight and out of mind, we are safe. We have celebrities to worry about and the latest electronic gadget. Who cares that gas keeps going up and when we see gas as low as 3.30 a gallon we see a bargain, who cares that more soldiers keep coming home in body bags, who cares the economy is terrible and the housing market sucks, who cares that the credit industry now has more power than ever to ruin peoples lives, no one does because we are safe and have cool toys to play with.

That folks is why we feel the need to question conservative minorities. They scare us, they should scare you too. We are not out to destroy them they just scare the hell right out of us.

A poem from the Nazi era comes to mind here for me. It is by Pastor Martin Niemoller.

When the Nazis came for the communists,
I remained silent;
I was not a communist.

When they locked up the social democrats,
I remained silent;
I was not a social democrat.

When they came for the trade unionists,
I did not speak out;
I was not a trade unionist.

When they came for the Jews,
I remained silent;
I wasn't a Jew.

When they came for me,
there was no one left to speak out.

Though I think the poem speaks to what we are becoming as a nation, BUT I think there is a movie quote that nicely sums up the whole minorities questioning other minorities being conservative. It comes from the movie Flawless, a drag queen is addressing a group of gay Republicans, it goes "as long as all of you get down on those banana republican knees and suck d$%& honey, you're all my sisters, and I love you, I do. God bless you, and F$%& off!"
